Unstoppable
This album was created almost entirely at home in my midi studio. I recorded most of the eleven songs myself, and bartered engineering for studio time.
Additional musicians include my dear friends Knox Chandler (guitar), Tony Bridges (bass), Kit Hain, Deborah Berg, Sherryl Marshall and Elise Morris (background vocals)
and my mother, Nathalie Gudkov Ghent, speaking in Russian!
We then mixed the CD with some of the best engineers in the world: Michael Brauer, Michael Barbiero, Tsuyoshi Inoue, Alex Haas, Harvey Goldberg and Carl Beatty
and mastered with the incredible Greg Calbi.

Songs For Children
Songs For Children by Emmanuel Ghent is a collection of 23 wonderful songs written for children of all ages from 2 to 102!
As well as being enjoyable, sing-along music, the songs have an added value as well: contained within each piece are subtle hints about melody, harmony and meter.
Unbeknownst to the children themselves as they sing along, they are learning all sorts of things about music. Performed by Susan Moore (piano),Valerie Ghent (vocals),
with guest musicians Dave Tofani (flute/clarinet), Keith Fluitt, Deborah Berg (vocals) and more.

I produced this WTC benefit CD in May 2002, compiling songs written by uniformed personnel and WTC volunteers who worked on the recovery efforts at Ground Zero after 9/11. Features songs by FDNY Thomas Ferranola (Engine 163), PAPD Lt. Norma Hardy, FDNY Greg Parr (58 Engine),
FDNY Hughie Lynch (Squad 1), local NYC songwriters Ann Klein, Leni Stern, Valerie Ghent and many more.

BOOKS/PHOTOGRAPHY:
In addition to music, songwriting and Feel the Music!, I have an ongoing passion for both photography and the Chinese internal martial art, Ba Gua Zhang. It has been a true honor to both study with and photograph master Gao Ji Wu over the last several years, both in Beijing and New York City, for the creation of these two books, The Essentials of Ba Gua Zhang and The Attacking Hands of Ba Gua Zhang.
The Essentials of Ba Gua Zhang
This acclaimed book by Gao Ji Wu and Tom Bisio focuses on the famous Beijing Gao Family Style of Ba Gua and features over 550 photographs taken by Valerie Ghent.
Offers an extremely clear presentation and many translated key "songs" of Ba Gua Zhang. Published in 2007, The Essentials of Ba Gua Zhang is a welcome addition to any bookshelf and is available from
amazon.com,
Plum Publishing and New York Internal Arts .
From a Seattle reader, on "The Essentials of Ba Gua Zhang"
"the photos in this book are among the very best in clarity and capturing logical moments in the ba gua movements."
